Chef Rich is a seasoned chef who grew up locally in Calgary and was immersed in the culinary world from an early age. With 20+ years in the industry, working at many of Calgary's best restaurants, he began to notice that there was a hole in the scene when it came to the cuisine of his background. A child of 2 Caribbean islands, the distinct flavors of his childhood that sparked his love for food needed a voice and Rich decided to take the opportunity when it was offered to him.

At Knotted Roots, we explore the flavours of West Africa, the West Indies, and the American South, taking you on a trip through historied culinary traditions, where the simplicity of cultural flavors gets elevated with the finesse of modern techniques and culinary trends. A unique blend of Caribbean, Cajun, Creole and African dishes takes you on a global field trip of flavours to be remembered.
